The StakeCruncher Standard: A Quality Mark for Studios That Publish Honest Math

Published 2026-06-15 · Tags: product, slots, data

Five criteria, three verified studios (Paperclip Gaming, Valkyrie, Parowdee), nobody pays to be listed. What the mark means and what it doesn't.

Today we're putting a name on something we've been doing informally for months: the StakeCruncher Standard. It's a quality mark for Stake Engine studios whose games hold up when you check the math, and it lives at /standard.

The first three studios carrying it are Paperclip Gaming, Valkyrie and Parowdee.

Why this exists

Stake Engine made it possible for anyone to publish a slot on Stake. That's good. It also means the catalog has thousands of games from hundreds of studios, and the quality range is enormous. Some studios publish full payout tables, make the RTP match what the lobby says, and build games that aren't a reskin of someone else's reels. Some don't.

Players have no way to tell them apart from the lobby. A tile is a tile.

We do have a way, because every Stake Engine game publishes its math publicly and we've been pulling it into Slot Cruncher and the verifier for a long time. So the Standard is us saying: we looked, and these hold up.

What "we looked" means

To carry the mark a studio has to clear all of these, on every active game, not a cherry-picked one:

  1. The published math is complete. Every mode has a payout table we can download and evaluate. No modes hidden, no "contact us for RTP".
  2. RTP matches. The RTP we compute from the outcome table matches the RTP shown in the lobby, within rounding. We've found games where these differ by more than a point. Not these.
  3. Verification works. Any spin can be reproduced from seeds and nonce through the provably fair flow, and the result matches what the game displayed. We test this with real spins, not just the table.
  4. Original work. The games aren't lightly reskinned clones of another studio's math. Same table with new art doesn't count.
  5. Sustained. New releases keep passing. A studio can lose the mark.

None of this is a judgment about whether the games are fun, or whether their volatility suits you. It's about whether the numbers are honest and checkable.

What it isn't

It isn't paid. No studio pays to be listed and no studio can pay to be listed. If that ever changes we'll say so loudly, and you should trust the mark less.

It isn't a ranking. Three studios carry it today; that doesn't mean the fourth-best studio on Stake Engine is bad. It means we've finished checking three.

It isn't an endorsement of gambling on them. Honest math still has a house edge.

How it shows up

Verified studios get a badge on their provider page in the Engine Tracker and on each of their games in Slot Cruncher. The /standard page lists the criteria and the studios, and we'll keep a short changelog there when a studio is added or removed.

We're working through the larger studios in order of player count. If you run a studio and want us to look sooner, the Telegram is open; be ready to point us at your fairness docs and your full mode list. That's the whole application.
