Stake Withdrawal Taking Too Long? 7 Reasons and Fixes
Published 2026-04-02 · Tags: guides, withdrawal, account
The specific seven causes we've seen across thousands of players for stuck withdrawals, in order of likelihood, with an exact fix for each.
Your withdrawal's been "pending" for hours. No email, no support response yet, no obvious reason. This post is the specific 7 causes we've seen across thousands of players, in rough order of likelihood, and what to do about each.
The honest context
Stake processes withdrawals fast. 90% of withdrawals settle within 5 minutes. If yours isn't, the remaining 10% has specific, fixable reasons. You're not being ignored; something specific is delayed.
Reason 1: Bonus rollover not cleared (most common)
What's happening: you accepted a bonus (welcome bonus, reload bonus, free spin bonus). Any balance in your account is held hostage by the rollover until the wagering requirement clears.
How to check: Go to Settings → Bonuses → Active Bonuses. If any show "Active" with a remaining rollover progress bar, that's your answer.
Fix:
- Option A: finish the rollover. Check the remaining wagering, decide if it's worth grinding.
- Option B: forfeit the bonus. This option is usually on the same page. You lose the bonus balance but your deposit is unlocked to withdraw.
Honest warning: forfeiting the bonus means losing any part of the bonus balance you've accumulated. Do the math: if bonus balance is $500 and rollover remaining would cost you $300 in expected losses to clear, forfeit. If bonus balance is $2,000 and rollover remaining costs $200 to clear, grind it out.
Our Bonus Calculator computes the expected-value tradeoff for your specific numbers.
Reason 2: Large withdrawal on a new account (manual review)
What's happening: your account is under, say, 30 days old and you're withdrawing $5k+. Stake's fraud system flags this for manual review.
What to do: wait. Manual reviews typically complete within 6–24 hours. The specific trigger: "new account + large withdrawal" is a classic money-laundering pattern they have to check.
To speed it up: respond promptly to any KYC email that arrives. If you're above the KYC threshold, they'll ask for documents. Provide them quickly.
Reason 3: KYC verification required
What's happening: you've crossed a KYC trigger threshold (lifetime activity above ~$5–20k, or single withdrawal above ~$5k), and Stake is now requiring verification before releasing the withdrawal.
How to check: look for an email from Stake asking for docs. Sometimes the pending status on the withdrawal page has a note like "Additional verification required."
Fix:
- Check your email (and spam folder)
- Upload requested documents (ID + selfie + proof of address, typically)
- Response time after submission: usually 4–24 hours
See our Stake KYC Guide for the full detail on what to submit.
Reason 4: Network congestion on the chosen chain
What's happening: Stake sent the transaction successfully, but the destination network (typically ETH, BTC, or another busy chain) is congested. The transaction is waiting in the mempool.
How to check:
- Find your withdrawal TX hash in your Stake transaction history
- Look it up on the block explorer:
- BTC: mempool.space
- ETH: etherscan.io
- Solana: solscan.io
- TRC-20: tronscan.org
- Check if the transaction shows "Unconfirmed" or "Pending"
Fix: wait. On-chain congestion is outside Stake's control. ETH during peak gas prices can take 30+ minutes. BTC during mempool spikes can take 2+ hours for the first confirmation.
To avoid in future: use cheaper chains for future withdrawals. USDT/USDC on Solana or TRC-20 never has network congestion; they confirm in under a minute. See our Stake Withdrawal Guide for the full chain comparison.
Reason 5: Cold wallet refill timing
What's happening: Stake splits balances between hot wallets (online, fast) and cold wallets (offline, manual). When hot wallet supply gets low for a specific coin, they wait for a cold-wallet refill, and your withdrawal queues up behind that.
When it happens:
- Major bull runs (lots of players withdrawing BTC simultaneously)
- After a hot wallet incident (Stake had one in 2023; handled well but caused brief delays)
- Weekend mornings (lowest staffing)
Fix: wait. Cold refills happen within 24h typically, sometimes within 6h. Your withdrawal is in the queue.
To verify this is what's happening: chat support can tell you "we're processing a batch, your withdrawal is queued." If they say this, it's case #5 and waiting is correct.
Reason 6: Destination wallet flagged
What's happening: the wallet address you're withdrawing to has been associated (directly or indirectly) with a sanctioned entity, mixer service, or known scammer by chain-analysis services like Chainalysis.
How to check: hard to tell from your side. You'd notice this if:
- Stake asks you to confirm the destination address via email
- Chat support mentions "destination address under review"
Fix:
- If the address is legitimate (your personal wallet / exchange deposit address), explain this in support chat
- If you got the address from a dubious source, that's actually the trigger — use a clean wallet
- Chainalysis flags can be false-positive (e.g. your wallet received a tiny amount of "dust" from a sanctioned address somewhere); support can usually clear false-positives after a conversation
Rare overall, happens most to players using brand-new wallets funded from unusual sources.
Reason 7: Stake account restriction (rare but checkable)
What's happening: your account has been flagged for a T&C violation:
- Multi-account (running multiple Stake accounts from the same device)
- VPN from an excluded jurisdiction
- Chargeback history on deposits
- Bonus abuse (intentional pattern-matching welcome-bonus grinding)
How to check: check your email for a Stake notification about account status. Check the app for any banner saying "Your account is under review."
Fix:
- If the restriction is legitimate (you actually violated T&Cs), you may not recover the balance
- If it's a false positive, respond politely to support with context. Stake has humans who can unflag false positives
- Either way, escalate via chat support. Reference your account ID and ask for clarification
The escalation path
If none of the above seems to apply and it's been 24+ hours:
- Open chat support (available 24/7 on stake.com, usually replies within 10 minutes)
- Say: "My withdrawal ID [X] has been pending for 24 hours. Can you investigate?"
- Stay polite. Support responds better to calm tone than to "WHERE MY MONEY"
- If first-line support can't resolve, ask to escalate to Payments Team
- If 48h has passed with no resolution, ask for a ticket number so you have a tracked reference
Stake's support is responsive; the issue is almost always identifiable once a human looks at your specific case.
What NOT to do
- Don't open multiple tickets. Your case gets queued at the back each time.
- Don't publicly shame on Twitter before support has a chance. Stake monitors social media but support chat is faster for resolution.
- Don't attempt to "rerequest" the withdrawal by canceling and re-submitting. This typically queues the case behind itself, delaying resolution.
- Don't withdraw to an address you just created and haven't tested. If you make a typo, the funds are irrecoverable.
The "is this a scam" question
If withdrawals have been stuck at Stake for > 72 hours with no support response: that would be unusual and concerning. Stake has processed billions reliably; extreme delays warrant investigation. But it's not a scam in the "they ran off with the money" sense, they're operational and licensed.
If you're coming from a phishing site that claimed to be Stake: you weren't on Stake at all. Check the URL — legit is stake.com. Phishing clones use domains like stake-com.net, stakes.com, stake.win (sometimes), etc.
Prevention for next time
- Use cheap, fast chains (TRC-20, Solana) to avoid network-congestion cases
- Keep your account KYC'd before you're forced to, complete KYC proactively once you expect to withdraw $5k+
- Don't take bonuses you don't want to clear, the rollover holds your deposit hostage
- Use a stable, verified destination wallet — exchanges with strong compliance (Coinbase, Kraken) never flag
- Withdraw during weekday business hours (UTC) for fastest routing if manual review is needed
The mental game
"My withdrawal is stuck" is often emotionally worse than it needs to be. Most cases resolve in under 24h with zero user action required. The "pending" state is a queue, not a refusal. Treat it like waiting for a package, annoying but expected, and almost always works out.
If you're mid-tilt and the pending withdrawal is triggering you to deposit more to "make up for lost access to your funds," stop. That's a well-documented anti-pattern. The funds will arrive. Don't make emotional decisions while they're in the queue.
The point
Stuck Stake withdrawals usually resolve within 24 hours and almost always have a specific cause (bonus rollover, KYC, network congestion). Work through the 7 reasons systematically; most players find their answer in the first 2. Chat support is the escalation, and it's responsive. Your money is safe; the delay has a reason.
