Every supported deposit method on Stake with real fees and timings. Which chains to use, which to avoid, and the network-mismatch trap.
Every deposit method Stake.com supports, what it actually costs, how long it takes to confirm, and which ones to avoid. Last updated for April 2026.
The short answer
Use USDT on TRC-20 or Solana, or BTC via Lightning. These are the fastest, cheapest, and most reliable for any size. Everything else is a trade-off.
Full list: every supported deposit method
Stake supports deposits in roughly 20 cryptocurrencies across multiple networks. Here's the practical view:
Stablecoins (recommended for most deposits)
| Coin + chain | Confirmation time | Fee to you | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| USDT TRC-20 | 30 sec – 2 min | ~$1 TRX gas | $1 |
| USDC TRC-20 | 30 sec – 2 min | ~$1 TRX gas | $1 |
| USDT Solana | 10–30 sec | < $0.01 SOL | $1 |
| USDC Solana | 10–30 sec | < $0.01 SOL | $1 |
| USDT Polygon | 30 sec – 2 min | Pennies in POL | $1 |
| USDT ERC-20 | 1–5 min | $2–30 gas | $5 |
| USDC ERC-20 | 1–5 min | $2–30 gas | $5 |
| DAI ERC-20 | 1–5 min | $2–30 gas | $5 |
Stablecoins are the boring, correct answer for most players. You don't want BTC's price to drop 8% between your deposit and your first bet.
BTC
| Method | Confirmation time | Fee to you |
|---|---|---|
| Lightning | Instant | < $0.01 |
| Native SegWit (bc1...) | 10–60 min | $1–6 |
| Legacy (1...) | 10–60 min | $2–8 |
Lightning is the best BTC option by a mile. 0.05 BTC max per invoice, instant, near-free. If you're depositing under 0.05 BTC, always use Lightning.
Ethereum + ETH-based
ETH natively: $2–30 in gas. WETH doesn't help (same chain). Prefer L2s (Arbitrum, Optimism) if your exchange supports withdrawing there.
Other L1 chains
| Coin | Confirmation | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| LTC | 30 sec – 5 min | $0.01 |
| DOGE | 30 sec – 2 min | $0.01 |
| BCH | 30 sec – 5 min | $0.01 |
| XRP | 3–5 sec | < $0.01 |
| TRX | 30 sec – 2 min | < $0.01 |
| SOL | 10–30 sec | < $0.01 |
| BNB (BEP-20) | 5–30 sec | < $0.01 |
| MATIC / POL | 10–60 sec | < $0.01 |
XRP, SOL, and BNB are the three "instant" alt-L1s. Great for fast deposits if you hold them.
The gotchas
1. Network mismatch, the expensive mistake
If you withdraw USDT from Binance on BEP-20 and paste the deposit address into Stake's TRC-20 deposit form, the funds might land on a different address. Some chains share address formats; sending to the wrong network can result in permanent loss or a painful support ticket.
Always double-check the network dropdown matches on both sides. The deposit address changes when you change the network.
2. "Cheap" ERC-20 stablecoin trap
Depositing USDC ERC-20 from your exchange might cost you $20 in gas just to deposit $100 into Stake. Unless you specifically want the ERC-20 rail (e.g. for fungibility), use TRC-20 or Solana. You'll save the full gas cost on every deposit and every withdrawal.
3. Price volatility during deposit
If you deposit BTC, the amount credited is based on BTC's price at the moment of confirmation, not the moment you sent. If BTC drops 2% during confirmation, your deposit credits lower. For stable purchasing power, use stablecoins.
4. Minimum confirmations
Stake requires specific on-chain confirmations per coin. For most cheaper chains (SOL, TRX, XRP), this is 1. For BTC, 1–2. Don't assume a TX is "stuck" until you see at least the minimum confirmations on a block explorer.
5. Deposit limits are set by Stake's banking, not you
Your daily/weekly deposit cap scales with VIP tier and account age. New accounts have lower caps that lift automatically. If you hit the cap, you wait.
What we recommend by use case
- Small deposits (< $100), USDT Solana. Sub-second, sub-cent fee.
- Regular medium deposits ($100–$5k) — USDT TRC-20. Cheap, fast, widely supported.
- Large one-time deposits ($5k+), USDC TRC-20. Same pros as USDT, slightly more regulated on the backend.
- BTC deposits under 0.05 BTC, Lightning, always.
- BTC deposits over 0.05 BTC — Native SegWit (bc1...) from a wallet that supports fee customization.
- If all you have is on Coinbase/Binance and it's in ETH, bridge to a cheap L2 or swap to USDT first, then deposit. Don't pay $20 in gas for ERC-20 fun.
Deposit bonuses (and when to skip them)
Stake offers a deposit-match bonus on first deposit and occasional reloads. They sound great but they lock the deposit+bonus until you clear the rollover. Do the math on whether the bonus is worth the wagering requirement, our Bonus Calculator computes your break-even EV so you know before you click accept.
Generally:
- Bonuses with rollover ≤ 10× on deposit only are strongly +EV
- 10×–25× on deposit+bonus is coin-flip-ish for dice/limbo, bad for slots
- > 25× is almost always a loss in expectation
The fastest deposit path
If you're on a dry wallet right now and want to be playing in 90 seconds:
- Buy USDT on Coinbase / Binance / your local exchange
- Withdraw on Solana or TRC-20
- Paste the matching Stake deposit address (make sure the network dropdown matches)
- Wait for confirmation (< 60 seconds typically)
- You're on the tables
For BTC: buy BTC, withdraw via Lightning to your Stake Lightning invoice. < 10 seconds end-to-end.
The sanity check
Before and after every deposit, track your cumulative balance. Tools:
- Stake's built-in history — accurate but only Stake
- Our P&L Calculator, imports Stake's CSV and values each deposit at the historical price so you see real lifetime P&L in USD
Knowing your real position stops the "am I actually up or down?" doubt that fuels bad decisions.
Takeaway
Deposits on Stake are mechanically simple. The money is in the details: pick the right chain, watch the network match, and use stablecoins unless you specifically want crypto volatility.
