Stake.com vs Stake.us: What's Different and Which You Should Use

Published 2026-04-08 · Tags: guides, comparison, account

Stake.com is the international crypto casino; Stake.us is the US-only sweepstakes variant. Side-by-side comparison of accounts, games, RTP, withdrawals, and legality.

Stake runs two separate products: Stake.com (crypto casino for international players) and Stake.us (social/sweepstakes casino for US players). They look similar at a glance, share the brand and UI, and have completely different economics. This post walks through every difference so you know which you're actually using.

The TL;DR

Stake.com = real-money crypto casino. You deposit crypto, play for real money, withdraw crypto.

Stake.us = sweepstakes-style social casino. You play with "Gold Coins" (entertainment-only) and "Stake Cash" (redeemable for real prizes). No crypto. Different legal model.

They are separate products, separate accounts, separate bonuses. Logging into one does not log you into the other. Do not assume anything transfers.

Why two different sites exist

US federal and state law make real-money online casinos illegal in most US states. Stake can't operate Stake.com for US players. So Stake.us uses the sweepstakes model, which is legal in most US states (except Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Kentucky, and sometimes Michigan, New York, New Jersey, state rules change).

The sweepstakes model is also used by Chumba Casino, Luckyland, Global Poker, etc. The legal trick is "you're playing for entertainment with virtual coins; a subset of those coins can be redeemed for prizes, but you're not technically gambling." This wording works under US sweepstakes law.

If you're a US resident traveling internationally, you cannot create a Stake.com account without misrepresenting your residence, doing so breaches their T&Cs.

The coin system on Stake.us

Stake.us uses two virtual currencies:

Gold Coins (GC)

Stake Cash (SC)

Every package purchase on Stake.us is technically a purchase of GC, with SC thrown in as a free bonus. This is how they maintain the sweepstakes legal structure. You're buying entertainment (GC); the cash (SC) is a "gift."

How to play "for real money" on Stake.us

You can redeem SC to USD at 1:1. So if you want a real-money-equivalent experience:

  1. Buy a GC package → get GC + bonus SC
  2. Play games using your SC
  3. Win more SC (or lose it)
  4. Redeem SC > $100 to your bank account

It's functionally equivalent to real-money gambling, just with the legal wrapper of sweepstakes. The game RTPs are the same; the math doesn't change.

Game selection

Stake.comStake.us
OriginalsYes (Dice, Limbo, Crash, Mines, Plinko, Keno, etc.)Most Originals available
Third-party slotsThousandsFewer, restricted by state
Live dealer gamesYes (Evolution, etc.)Usually no (state-dependent)
Sports bettingYesNo

Stake.us has a narrower game catalog than Stake.com, especially on live dealer and sports. Third-party slots availability varies by state.

RTP comparison

This is a common question: do Stake.com and Stake.us offer the same RTP on the same games?

For Originals: yes, Dice, Limbo, Crash, Mines, Plinko are identical. Provably fair, same math, same house edge.

For third-party slots: usually yes, but some providers restrict the high-RTP version in sweepstakes contexts. Check the specific game's info panel.

For live dealer: N/A (usually not available on Stake.us).

For sports betting: N/A (not on Stake.us).

Provably fair verification

Both Stake.com and Stake.us use identical provably-fair algorithms. Our Stake Verifier works for both:

If you're on Stake.us and want to verify a bet, go to /verifier and paste the seeds, it works the same way.

Bonuses and promotions

Both sites run promotions, but the mechanics differ:

Stake.com:

Stake.us:

Stake.us actually has a better "no deposit required" path than Stake.com. You can play real-money-equivalent games entirely off daily free SC drops if you're patient. Not a lot of SC, but not zero either.

Withdrawals / redemptions

Stake.com: Crypto withdrawals to your wallet. Near-instant for small, same-day for medium, 1–5 days for large. Free of platform fees.

Stake.us: SC → USD redemption via ACH bank transfer or prepaid card. Minimum $100. Processing time: 1–5 business days. Required: verified bank account + KYC.

Stake.us redemption is slower and more regulated than Stake.com withdrawals, because it's moving USD through US banking rails, not crypto.

The "which is better" question

For US players: Stake.us is the only legal option for real-money equivalent play on Stake's brand. You have no choice.

For international players: Stake.com is strictly better, more games, more promotions, no sweepstakes wrapper, faster withdrawals, real crypto rails.

Don't pick between them based on preference; pick based on where you live.

The feature overlap that confuses people

Both sites have identical UI, branding, and Originals. If you've played Stake.com and land on Stake.us for the first time, everything looks familiar — same Dice interface, same Crash multiplier bar, same Plinko animation.

The difference is invisible at first: your balance is in GC/SC not BTC/USDT, and some game features may be missing. Check your coin panel, not the game UI, to confirm which site you're on.

VIP tiers

Both have VIP programs, but they're not unified:

Even if you're Platinum on Stake.com, you start at Bronze on Stake.us.

Tools that work on both

Our Verifier, Bet Analyzer, and Session Rebuilder work with archives from either Stake.com or Stake.us. The bet archive export format is the same.

The VIP Calculator is calibrated to Stake.com thresholds. Stake.us has a separate VIP ladder.

The Sports Tracker only covers Stake.com sportsbook (Stake.us doesn't offer sports betting).

Summing up

Stake.com and Stake.us are separate products designed for different legal jurisdictions. They share UI and game math but not accounts, balances, bonuses, or VIP progress. US players must use Stake.us. International players should stick with Stake.com. Don't try to use a VPN to access the wrong one; it breaches T&Cs and puts your balance at risk.
