Stake VIP Tiers Explained: Every Wager Threshold and Reward
Published 2026-04-22 · Tags: guides, vip
The complete VIP ladder — Bronze to Obsidian — with approximate wagering requirements, time-to-tier estimates, and honest profitability analysis.
Stake's VIP program is one of the most generous in crypto gambling, but Stake doesn't publish thresholds, doesn't publish reward percentages, and doesn't tell you where your rewards stop scaling. The only way to figure out where you stand is asking around in chat or running our VIP Calculator on whatever wager numbers you can pull from your account.
This guide is the version we wish existed when we started: every rank, the rough wagering threshold to hit it, the rewards that actually unlock at each level, and an honest take on whether the grind is worth it.
The tier ladder
Stake has 16 named ranks across 6 broad tiers. Thresholds aren't published, but community-pieced numbers from years of wager-tracking have settled on these:
| Rank | Approx. lifetime wager | Where it puts you |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | $10,000 | Entry tier — every reward category unlocks here |
| Silver | $50,000 | First proper rewards bump |
| Gold | $100,000 | Rakeback starts feeling meaningful |
| Platinum I | $250,000 | Mid-VIP territory |
| Platinum II | $500,000 | — |
| Platinum III | $1,000,000 | Last tier before host access |
| Platinum IV | $2,500,000 | VIP host + reload bonuses unlock here |
| Platinum V | $5,000,000 | — |
| Platinum VI | $10,000,000 | — |
| Diamond I | $25,000,000 | High-roller territory |
| Diamond II | $50,000,000 | — |
| Diamond III | $100,000,000 | — |
| Diamond IV | $250,000,000 | — |
| Diamond V | $500,000,000 | — |
| Obsidian | $1,000,000,000+ | Top of the ladder |
A few things to keep in mind:
- These are lifetime wager, not deposit. If you wager $200, win back $250, and wager that $250 again, that's $450 of wagering, not $200.
- Stake adjusts thresholds quietly. Numbers above are the most recent community estimates; treat them as ±10%.
- Most cryptos count 1:1 toward wagering. Some promotional balances (free bets, certain bonuses) count differently or not at all. Always check the bonus terms.
What unlocks at which tier
The biggest mistake in most "Stake VIP explained" articles is claiming that rewards unlock progressively across the ladder. They don't. Bronze already has every reward category Stake offers below the host tiers — they just pay smaller percentages.
| Reward | Unlocks at | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly bonus | Bronze | % of weekly wager. Scales every tier. |
| Monthly bonus | Bronze | Larger version of weekly. Scales every tier. |
| Rakeback | Bronze | Instant per-bet refund. Scales every tier. |
| Level-up bonus | Bronze | Lump sum on reaching each new tier. Grows fast at higher ranks. |
| Rain (chat tips) | Any account | Not really a VIP reward, but worth knowing — chat rains hit anyone with a recent wager. |
| Reload bonus | Platinum IV | Periodic deposit-match style boost. |
| VIP host | Platinum IV | Dedicated account manager. Negotiable rewards (boosted rakeback, custom promos, free spin packages, race entries). |
| Custom promos | Platinum IV+ | Routed through your host. |
| Bespoke rewards (events, custom tokens, etc.) | Diamond+ | Highly variable, host-driven. |
So at Bronze you've already got weekly + monthly + rakeback + level-up. They're small at that tier (rakeback's only ~2-3%, weekly bonus is a few cents to a few dollars), but every reward category is active.
What changes from Bronze upward isn't which rewards you get — it's the percentage on each one and the lump-sum size on level-up bonuses.
How big the rewards actually are
Approximate rakeback at each tier, derived from community data:
| Tier | Rakeback ~% | Level-up bonus ~$ |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 2-3% | $1-5 |
| Silver | 3-4% | $25-75 |
| Gold | 4-5% | $200-500 |
| Platinum I | 5-6% | $1,500-3,000 |
| Platinum III | 7-8% | $10,000-15,000 |
| Platinum IV | 8-9% | $25,000-40,000 |
| Platinum VI | ~10% | $100,000+ |
| Diamond I | ~11% | $250,000+ |
| Diamond V | ~14% | $1M+ |
| Obsidian | ~15%+ | $5M+ (varies a lot) |
Rakeback is the steady drip. Level-up bonuses are the lottery tickets. Weekly and monthly bonuses sit between them in both size and predictability — typically a few percent of your wager, paid into your bonus inbox each Monday and the 1st of the month.
The reason rakeback matters more than level-up bonuses for most players: rakeback is paid on every bet, forever, while level-up bonuses are one-time. If you're a steady player who'll wager another $1M after hitting Platinum III, you're earning ~$70-80k of rakeback over time on top of whatever the level-up paid.
How long does each tier actually take?
Time to a tier is just wager threshold ÷ wagering pace. Posts that quote you "Bronze in 1 hour" or "Silver in a week" are picking arbitrary play assumptions and burying them in an asterisk. The real answer depends entirely on your bet size and how fast you place bets.
Here's the math you can do yourself. If your average bet is B and you place N bets per session at S sessions per week, your weekly wagering volume is B × N × S.
A few example scenarios at 200 bets per session, 5 sessions per week (1,000 bets/week):
| Avg bet | Weekly wager | Bronze ($10K) | Silver ($50K) | Gold ($100K) | Plat I ($250K) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $1 | $1,000 | 10 weeks | ~1 year | ~2 years | ~5 years |
| $10 | $10,000 | 1 week | 5 weeks | 10 weeks | 25 weeks |
| $100 | $100,000 | <1 day | ~3 days | ~1 week | ~2.5 weeks |
| $1,000 | $1,000,000 | a few minutes | <1 hour | a few hours | <2 days |
Two reality checks:
-
High-stakes players hit Bronze in minutes, not hours. If you're betting $1,000 a spin, ten spins gets you Bronze. Most "time to tier" charts you'll see online are written for low-stakes recreational play and quietly assume bet sizes that don't match what most players reading the article actually wager.
-
Variance ruins the math at low bet counts. The table above assumes break-even cumulative variance. In reality, a $100 bettor going on a heater can hit Bronze in an afternoon, while one running cold might take three times longer because their bankroll forces smaller bets.

Is VIP +EV?
For most players, no — and that's the most important thing to know before you decide to chase tiers.
The math:
- House edge on Stake's Originals is 1% (Dice, Limbo, Crash, etc.)
- House edge on slots is typically 3-5%
- Rakeback at common tiers is 3-8% of the house contribution, not your wager
So a $10,000 wager at 1% house edge generates ~$100 of expected loss. Rakeback at 5% returns you ~$5. You're still losing $95 in EV terms — just slower.
Where the math tilts positive:
- Sports betting if you're sharp. If your sports picks have positive edge to begin with (real edge, not "I picked 6/10 last week"), rakeback is pure profit on top. Our Sports Leaderboard shows which Stake users actually have +EV records over hundreds of bets — the rakeback for that subset of players is genuinely free money.
- Optimal blackjack. Played with basic strategy, blackjack is ~0.5% house edge. Rakeback at higher tiers can close most of that gap.
- Variance hot streaks. You can run hot for weeks and bank rakeback from wagers that would've been break-even or losing.
For pure slots players the house edge is too high for VIP math to net out. The level-up bonuses help, but the wagering required to reach higher tiers loses more than the bonuses pay back. The math hurts to read but it's the truth.
Practical playbook
- Don't wager to reach a tier. Wager at the size that makes sense for your bankroll. Tiers come naturally if your volume gets you there.
- Claim everything. Many players never touch their weekly/monthly bonuses because the button is buried in
Account → Bonuses. Set a calendar reminder for Monday morning and the 1st of the month. - Watch rakeback as your real cost signal. Whatever rakeback Stake has paid you in the last 30 days vs your wager total tells you the actual cost of your play better than any other number. If rakeback is $50 on $50,000 wagered, you're getting 0.1% back on a 1-4% house edge — that's the room you're losing in.
- At Platinum IV+, use your host. Hosts have a budget to retain you. A polite DM during a quiet week asking for a deposit-match offer or a rakeback boost gets approved more often than you'd expect. Players who never message their host are leaving real money on the table.
How Stake's VIP compares
Versus Roobet, BC.Game, Bitstarz, and other crypto casinos:
Where Stake wins:
- Higher max rewards at the top end. Diamond/Obsidian level-up bonuses regularly exceed $100k.
- Rakeback is shown as a running total, withdrawable, no clearance requirement.
- Lower base house edge on Originals (1% vs 1.5-2.5% at most competitors), so you need less rakeback to net positive.
Where Stake doesn't win:
- Slow tier ramp at low levels — competitors are sometimes more generous at the Bronze/Silver equivalent.
- No published thresholds anywhere on the site.
- Stake can adjust tier rewards or your personal rates at any time. It rarely happens, but the rules permit it.
The bottom line
Stake's VIP program is generous if you were already going to wager that volume. It's a trap if you wager more than you would have otherwise just to chase tiers. Rakeback alone won't make slots +EV, and grinding to Platinum III for the level-up bonus typically loses more in expected value than the bonus pays out.
