Vault: Pick the Exact Unlock Minute, Plus a Fix for VPN and Ad-Block Users
Published 2026-08-18 · Tags: vault, product
Locks now release at the exact local time you choose. And indexer reads go through our backend first, so VPNs and tracking protection can't blank your vault.
Two vault changes this week, one you'll notice and one you won't.
Pick the exact unlock time
When you create a lock you've always picked a date. The time was implied (midnight UTC, roughly) and the "unlocks in" label was fuzzy. Several people pointed out, reasonably, that if you're locking a win until Friday evening so you can't touch it before the weekend, "Friday" isn't precise enough. Friday 00:00 UTC is Thursday evening in New York.
There's a time picker now. Pick the day, pick the hour and minute, in your local timezone, and the lock releases at exactly that moment. Everywhere the lock is shown (the card, the list, the schedule) you'll see the exact local release time rather than a day.
For drip locks the same applies to the first payout and to the cadence. If you want it to pay every Friday at 18:00 your time, you can set that.
The thing you won't notice
The vault reads your lock history from an on-chain indexer. Until this week your browser talked to that indexer directly. A surprising number of people couldn't: VPNs, ad-blockers and Firefox's tracking protection all have lists that flag indexer and RPC domains, and when the read fails, the vault page shows no locks, which looks exactly like your money is gone.
Those reads now go through our own backend first. Same data, same chain, but it's stakecruncher.com asking, which nothing blocks. If our backend is unreachable for any reason the page falls back to the direct read, so the old path still exists as a backup.
If you've had the vault show empty on a VPN or in Firefox, try it again. It should just work now. If it still doesn't, Telegram with your browser and whether a VPN is on, and we'll dig.
A reminder on what "non-custodial" means here
Both changes are to the interface. Your locks live on the chain in Sablier streams, under your wallet. We never hold funds, we can't move them, and if this site disappeared tomorrow you could claim every lock directly from Sablier's own app. The indexer change is about whether the page can show you your locks, not whether you have them. You always have them.
